As we also own a farm in Villanders, we have the opportunity to keep and feed our animals in a natural and species-appropriate way. Our animals are mainly fed hay from our own pasture as well as alpine hay from approx. 1,500 metres above sea level, which still contains many herbs and valuable nutrients. They also receive a carefully selected mixture of cereals. In autumn, our animals still enjoy outdoor exercise, otherwise they are kept in our stables. In addition to cattle, we also keep sheep and turkeys on our farm.
As our farm is not big enough to keep all the animals ourselves, we work closely with neighbouring farmers. We believe that it is important to strengthen the local economy - and that the animals should also be bought from us in South Tyrol. That's why we work very closely with the South Tyrolean Livestock Marketing Consortium. Dairy calves, young cattle and suckler cows are auctioned off there every week. The farmer always receives the highest price.
I can say with conviction that we source around 80 % of our beef from South Tyrol. The rest comes from Italy, Austria or France. We source our pork from neighbouring farms as well as from national farms or the rest of the EU.
Our customers can choose between South Tyrolean top quality or first-class quality from various regions of Europe and the world. We want to do justice to all our customers - whereby the raw materials from South Tyrol are particularly important to us, because we are convinced of their quality.
